We thought there had to be a better way...

Between them, David Morrell and Christopher Koren have over 40 years as some of Australia's most successful real estate agents and auctioneers.

get in touch with Morrell & KorenWhy, then, did they create another side and then cross over to it? Why become Australia's first buyers' advocates?

"We'd been helping a number of people with purchases, and they'd tell their friends and it began to snowball," said Koren. "People were begging us to do it."

It became plain that buyers' advocacy was a service which took a lot of the uncertainty out of buying and was saving some people a great deal of money. Some hard thinking later, Morrell and Koren decided that if they were to properly represent buyers, that's all they should do.

"That was the breakthrough," according to Morrell. "The agents might hate us, but they know we're representing real buyers and not competing with them for listings or threatening their commissions. Now they know that they can't afford not to deal with us."

That gives Morrell and Koren access to agents' "hidden" listings while their greater knowledge of vendors and markets allows them to take control of auctions and negotiations.

"We know the games and we put a stop to them," asserts Morrell. "It's time someone did."

Damian Taylor, while born, raised and educated in Melboune’s bayside, began his real estate career in Perth in the mid-1970s. After gaining his real estate licence, Damian started his first real estate agency in West Perth in 1977.

For close to 30 years, Damian has been associated with Hodges Real Estate; for 17 years, as principal Director, he shephered its growth to be a major Bayside agency with nine offices and over 90 staff.

In 30 years, Damian has conducted more than 4,000 auctions, in total representing close to a billion dollars worth of property.

Damian's knowledge of Bayside, both its real estate and the estate agents responsible for its purchase and sale, is simply unequalled by any other buyers' advocate.
